Pyrite and Gold Coated Pyrite, Simple and Sweet
This pyrite and gold coated pyrite bracelet is, as they say, delicious! Pyrite is also known as fool’s gold even though it is sometimes found in small quantities with actual gold.  The pyrite and gold coated pyrite beads are luxurious in both look and feel. Even though these pyrite beads are tiny, they cannot be missed in a circlet around your wrist. Pyrite and gold coated pyrite beads were strung on flex wire to create this bracelet. I used gold filled crimp beads with a sterling silver lobster claw clasp to hold everything together.
The little piece of terra cotta the bracelet is resting on in the first picture is from Ephesus, an ancient Greek city on the coast of Ionia (turkey). It was build in the 10th Century BC. When I picked up that little piece of history, my mind swirled with the possibilities as to who made it, who had held it, and what it might have been used for. It felt almost magical in my 21st Century hands..
