Goldstone ~ Not Stone At All!
This goldstone and silver bracelet glitters like an old, yet not forgotten, disco ball. It is lightweight, flexible, and sits easily on the wrist.
Goldstone is, in fact, a type of glittering glass made in a low-oxygen atmosphere. It is often mistaken for (or misrepresented as) a natural material. The original manufacturing process was invented in seventeenth-century Venice. Urban legend says goldstone was an accidental discovery by Italian monks; most likely the product of alchemy!
I wire wrapped 11 x 6 mm round goldstone beads using .925 sterling silver wire to create this bracelet. The sterling silver toggle fastener was also wire wrapped to ensure strength and endurance.
